I have a pirate display and my nylon anchor rope is white and shiny as christmas snow. Does anyone have ideas on how to make rope look old & weathered?

I'm not quite sure....Possibly soak it in something like coffee? But I'm not sure if it would stiffen it or not. I had some bottle corks that I bought once and they were really new looking so I soaked them in coffee and it worked and it wasn't sticky or anything after it dried. Idk if this same thing would work with rope tho.

dont use nylon white anchor rope. I had some from my boat left it out in the mud and weather thinking i could age it. it stayed white after a few years outdoors. your best bet is to get some brown jute type rope and use that. Nylon rope just doesnt seem to do what you want it to. especially if it is high grade marine rope.

Drop it in mud....let it dry....then just use it. If that doesn't give you desired effect....try some brown stray paint.
