I'm looking to do something sort of spooky elegant in the dining room using wine bottles and tapers like this:
I can easily use regular tapers, but not looking forward to worrying about wax drips, or drunken accidents during the broohaha.
Any DIY tapers tutorials out there? Thanks guys!![]()

The larger Joann in my area has the battery tapers year round. Michaels only has tea lights. The ones Walmart had for Christmas last year had creepy Halloween Orange flames instead of Happy Yellow/Amber flames. Utterly inappropriate for Christmas so I waited until clearance to grab a few packs. The Walgreens ones were terrible too, they had white LEDs (the packaging even claimed this was to make it look better than the average ones) so it looked like a flashlight with some silicone glue stuck to the top of it.

I would think you could hack a regular tea light to make these out of slender PVC I might have to try it myself. I will let you know how it goes....Love the idea.

You can doctor up the regular battery tapers. A few coats of acrylic craft paint and hot glue used for wax drips would do the trick. I doctor up all the battery candles we use.
