Does anyone have a way to make realistic looking moss? I've seen the how-to on making lichen from the Grimvision's site but I'm looking for something "fuzzier and fluffier."

I haven't tried this, but I had two ideas that might work:

    1. Railroad model grass (http://woodlandscenics.woodlandsceni...gory/FineTurf/). Use a paintbrush with a bit of glue (water-based if you plan on saving the paintbrush) to brush on the areas where you'd like the moss to cling. Then take the model grass stuff and gently tap onto the areas like you would apply glitter, let it dry and tap off the excess.

    2. Dryer lint. Take some dryer lint, dye it with green paint or food coloring (acrylic paint probably would work better as it's color-fast once dry). I'd probably try doing the paint in a spray bottle thinned with water. Let the lint dry, and then use the same method for applying glue as above. Take the lint and pull out little tufts of it and smooth it down into the glue areas, pressing it lightly into the glue.

Actually, you could do a combo of the two - putting the lint layer down first and then adding the model grass stuff to really get an organic feel. It would be easy to mold the lint into the shapes you wanted (but keep your fingers as dry as you can, cause that stuff STICKS).

Neither of these methods would be weather-proof unless you did a spray sealant on it, tho. There are matte (no gloss) spray sealants that will protect your paint/effects like this: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053
