Hi,
we have a number of sound activated props that will not activate in our display unless we are literally standing by them clapping. Our display has areas that are not accessible to viewers and we can't place all of our sound activiated items in the line of foot traffic.
I am an electrical novice ( as in I can change the batteries and resolder things, that's about it so far). Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to by pass the sound activation module so that the prop activates every 30 seconds or so, rather than hang or sit there uselessly until I can get to it? I've rigged speakers to the ground items to activate when thunder sounds, but the hanging props are tougher.
thank you in advance

My guess is that your request is going to be tough to answer. It is most likely built into the circuit boards.

I'll start with the caveat that I don't own any sound-activated props.
Assuming the "sound listening" device is a trigger for the prop, switching out the device for another type of device - such as a pressure mat or a PIR seems plausible. A simple test would be to cut the wires running to the sound device and, with the prop turned on, touch the wires together. If the prop activates, it can be activated by any of the above.Nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

Is it really sound...or is it possible it's motion activated? I have a couple of motion activated ones like Donna of the Dead that I point a light at...the ToTs walk between the light and the prop breaking the "beam" causing the prop to trigger
