Mike,
I was not aware of your trademark and out of respect for your trademark claim, I will not use those specific terms in regard to the marketing of my own ghost-bust type of effect product.

However...

My use of ghost bust is intended as descriptive as is the common vernacular for this type of effect at this time. This is an open forum with these terms are used freely in that descriptive manner not just by myself, but in all usage of this terminology. In that regard I will continue to use that terminology until that particular vernacular has permuted.

Default "Ghost Bust"

Hey Bryan,

We can continue this conversation off the forum so we don't deluge the rest of the guys with this stuff.

Sorry you took my post so hard, apparently, like I said, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but this is an important business matter, and I'd rather handle it in a friendly matter instead of knee jerk reactions, threats of legal action, etc. I don't feel it's necessary in this tight-knit, friendly community. I hope you don't prove me wrong.

The fact remains that I coined the term "Ghost Bust" and took the appropriate legal measures to protect its use, as can be seen with a simple trademark search.

Just so you know, that little "R" in the circle next to the name on our website and promotional materials is there for a reason, to clearly show that the name is a registered trademark.

I'm flattered that you say the term "Ghost Bust" is part of the haunt community's vernacular. That's kinda cool to know. But again, allow me to request in as pleasant a tone as I can muster, please refrain from using it in your sales pitches, advertising, etc.

If there's anything more to be said, let's talk privately so we don't annoy the neighbors.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,
Very valid points, and I agree. It's a funny thing but when I read it a 2nd time, I perceived the tone of your post differently. The context of writing is sometimes easily misunderstood.

You grabbed a good name for your product and did exactly what I would have done in light of competitive elements. I have already made the necessary adjustments. Please check my website for confirmation.

I apologize to you and the neighbors for butting-in on this thread (though I was truly unaware of the topic) as well as possibly over-reacting.

You are welcome to contact me anytime to discuss this (or any) matter.

Bryan G.

Thanks Bryan,
I agree, sometimes the written word can so easily be taken the wrong way.
I appreciate your post, and your adjustments.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program. ; )

Mike
