Interactive live performances!!!???
How the heck are you going to pull that off?

Mike I really like the startle scare. has some really good stuff. I loved seeing the blaster in action.

Have you considered doing it with the human/monster face character?

I like the skull guy. And I think it adds variety.
But there is something about that human/monster face.
More lifelike and expressive. Really helps the illusion that the bust is coming to life.

or
Maybe you could add a rotting transition from the static roman head to the skull.

Yes, you guys, I have an original bust, aligning vert and horiz was a bit tedious, but the new version supposedly makes it easier...Mike's the man, he'll help you out!

Mike, any consideration for some kind of ghost bust trade-in program? I'd be happy to pay some fee and trade-in original bust, for a bust upgrade...

yeah, the alignment is from trying to have the bust in the window, yet still facing as firward as possible, with the projector to the side...I may put the bust in my front yard cemetery this year, with projector on porch ceiling, which would make MUCH better alignment a possibility...

Won't be easy, but I'm a programmer as well as everything else, so I think I can pull it off. It may not be quite as realistic and fluid as the non-interactive version, but... we'll see, just need to find some time to do some woodshedding.

Good suggestion on having another face do the startles as well... just need the time to make it happen.

Davy, contact me privately via my website and we'll see what we can do for you re: a bust trade-in plan.

Thanks,

MIke

Just out of curiosity; Which projector model does the 2009 version of the Ghost bust use?

Also Mike, an interactive routine would be a welcomed addition! Maybe with mic input and basic keystroke facial animations! Of course, it would probably work better on a pumpkin...hint, cough! hint, cough!

That worked pretty well! I thought about buying Gordo, but I didn't like how jerky the transition animations were. I've been trying to re create a similar effect in flash! I plan on having it be both a puppet and routine.

My original plan was to have the pumpkin a)float 2)have flames on his head d) Sing!

The problem is that I'd need the projected image to sync with the floating(moving) pumpkin! I think it would be an interesting concept, if i could ever get around to figuring it all out.

Glad to hear you're loving it.

I tried builging my own, I'm good with stuff like that, but I just couldn't pull it together -- a lot harder to make look good than I thought.

So this year, the Ghost Bust is my big extravagance.

How are the people at Night Frights to deal with? If I'm buying I'd hope they'ld be cool and follow up the sale with some service. Yes? No?
Hey Fearmonger,
My name is Bryan. I am with Thematic Effects and Imagineerie.com. If you are considering purchasing a ghost bust, I had a booth at the Transworld shows this year where I demonstrated a new Ghost Bust design that is a fully self-contained unit that is also competitively priced (the tabletop version is $1499.00).

The projection system is built into the inside of the unit so it can be set-up anywhere. It currently comes with two pre-recorded routines (a greeting with haunt rules and a cool Halloween poem), with more routines in development.

I am developing a live ghost bust interface system in which a performer can interface with guests or other performers. I am also introducing a compelling new feature where the customer can send to me a facial photograph and an audio recording of their choosing and I will produce a video based on that audio recording with the animated likeness from the photograph that can be used in all Imagineerie video based products. Both will be available this year with pricing as yet undetermined (but will be very reasonable).

Full details on all of these items are available at imagineerie.com (here is the link)

Theme Park & Halloween Haunt Special Effects and FX Systems

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Regards
Bryan G.

Bryan,
perhaps you would like to start a new thread.
This one is entitled "Nightfrights ghost bust".

I have a few observations of your products.
But I would like to keep this thread on topic.

Oh, my bad. Sorry 'bout that. I didn't realize that was the topic of this thread when I responded.

Default "Ghost Bust"

Also, Bryan, while we're on the subject...

I didn't want to come across like a jerk, so I was looking for an appropriate opportunity to mention it, but the term "Ghost Bust" is actually a registered trademark that I own.

I've been using it for years while still partnered with SkullTronix, and finally went to the trouble and expense a while back to have it legally registered with the United States Trademark Office. ( Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) )

While I respect your right to compete with my product, if you would please refrain from using the term "Ghost Bust", I would be appreciative.

Thanks!

Mike
