I have the big MC-2401 but a lot of our group got the ST-2401 and while I haven't asked them how it went I just love the one I got. The thunder track was pretty much like most I've heard, just a lot of thunder! You won't be sorry if you purchase one of these, high quality product.

I own all three of the I-Zombie units and love them but I just ran across this website that is coming out with everything the I-Zombie units has plus several additional features and functions for the same price. If you order before May 3 they are offering a 20% discount. I have seen the prototype and it is first class. If you like the I-Zombie unit you'll love the new FireFly. Check it out at
http://www.lights-alive.com/ctrl_firefly.html . I have no personal interest in the any of the companies involved.

I built my own stereo lightning machine last year similar (not the same) to the circuitry listed near the beggining of this thread. If I were to do it again, I would probably buy a I-Zombie product. I use there lightning audio CD, top quality.

I used the I-zombie for the 2nd time last year, make no "bones" about it nothing on the market comes close to comparing for the price. Customer Service is also outstanding.

I kind of wish I had seen this post before ordering a perfect storm category 5 lightning controller (Halloween Haunted House Design and Equipment). The I zombie top of the line really looks good. I will let you know how this controller works when I receive. It does 3200 watts, however, wonder if it is single or multi channel? Will keep you posted, lol. May order the i-zombie 2, time will tell.............

I too am looking for a lightning controller and have looked at both the I zombie and the firefly. I noticed that the firefly had 5 channels and the I zombie has 4. Does anyone wish they ever had an extra channel for one more light?

The fifth channel on a FireFly 501 is a dedicated dimming channel, rather than one more lightning channel. You can have four channels of lightning, plus a dedicated channel to dim/flicker the house/room lights. The i-Zombie 2401 doesn't offer any dimming, plus has only one mode of operation versus the 501's six modes.
You can compare FireFly and i-Zombie features at http://www.lights-alive.com/pdf/FireFly_vs_iZombie.pdf
