Default Cowlacious Designs

OK, guess I get to be first! This year I made the leap to a talking skull setup, and decided to give Cowlacious Design's Scary Terry line a shot. I got them on the phone, and being a complete novice in this area, started asking the usual 500 questions. Not only did they patiently answer everything I had to ask, but they actually started to recommend places where I could get parts like LED's and wall-warts cheaper than the ones they offered (not much cheaper, their prices are pretty good!). At the conclusion of my order, they tossed in a few gratis items simply because they thought I might need them to make what I wanted - think about it, you can barely get free salt at McDonald's and these guys are tossing in free parts! Last, but not least, my shipment arrived in perfect order in 2, yes TWO days (I live in FL, they're in NV). I've since placed other orders with these guys and will continue to do so. Give it a shot and look over their products, you'll be hard pressed to find better service.

I ordered twice from these guys last year, and had both items within a couple days as well.

There was a lot of griping about them here last year, but not from me.

I wish their documentation was better... but that's my only suggestion.

I tried to order from this guy and he refused to send me anything because I lived in Europe, got to thank him, because he was such a pain I moved on to a much better product.

I won't sell to people in Europe, either. It's a pain in the arse.

I ordered 2 kits last year, one had the wrong components.
I had some difficulty in getting it straightened all out, but everything was made right, and overall, I'd say I'm satisfied.

I got a ST100 board a few days ago, and couldn't be happier. The older BPE board I've been using for a talking skull didn't work with the MP3 player I want to use. The ST100 does a great job with it. A had a couple of questions, called Carl, and got fast answers.

Seems we've moved over to reviewing the merchant and not specific products. Anyway, placed my first order with them last fall and received the wrong item. Email to them was acknowledged but no corrective action. Called Carl directly who apologized and shipped correct item right away. Plus he let me keep the wrong product I first received. That's OK by me.

I believe there are only a couple guys running the show but their products are good and affordable. I would order from them again.

I have been ordering audio drivers from them over sveral years and seen a couple of model modifications. I have had nothing but great things to say about Cowlacious Designs. Always what I order, when I order. And yes, their prices rule.

I've a mixed review, so far. I hope the remaining problem gets fixed within the next few days.

I too decided to add a talking skull this year. I'm VERY happy with the pre-built skull and audio driver board. It works great. I am 100% satisfied and will probably add a second one next year.

I also ordered the ISD sound board. It didn't work. Carl provided good debugging support and free shipping back when it was clear it didn't work. But some time went by, and when I emailed them again, they THEN promised to ship out the previously promised replacement. It's now been 2 more weeks, and just 7 days before Halloween, and I don't have the replacement board yet.

Thumbs up

I've had nothing but good experiences with Cowlacious and their products.

I'm not sure how not selling to Europe = "he was such a pain".
