So, I ordered a museum-quality Scurvy Matt skull from the SkeletonStore.com. Now I must say, even with the home haunter's discount, he carries a pretty hefty price tag for a skull... BUT, he is worth the price if you're looking for something that's realistic and has a definite creep factor.

He's cast out of resin, but isn't at all heavy and clunky like I expected. And he's textured like old bone so has an interesting feel. The mold has some thin spots, which IMHO simply adds to the coolness factor. The thin areas look worn, like you'd expect an old, scurvy skull to look.

He's definitely going to add a lot to the piracte scene this year and to all of the other scenes in the future. In fact, I think he'll sit next to my computer all year long!

I'm hoping to order the rest of the gang too. Hope they're all as nice!

That is the HSMM skull at the Skull Shoppe: http://skullshoppe.com/museum-skulls.php
(less expensive there, and straight from the maker)
