Had a great party for our little bunch on Saturday. We had about 17 people, which is actually a few more than usual for us -- we don't invite too many, since our house is super tiny, but we like to go all out for those we do invite. We spent most of our time this year on the small front yard cemetery (our first) and the flickering candles. I loved watching everyone meander around checking out the stones and asking if they could pick up the candles. I think everyone enjoyed sitting around in the candle light. I also made a couple of foam board lanterns (one outside and one on the table).
My name is Bonnie Hunt, so I call the party "Bonnie Haunt" and this is my 6th. Here are a few pics of decor and party people on a public Facebook Album:

Food:
Stuffed Jalapenos, Chicken Flautas, Tomatillo Ranch Dip, Pinwheels, Lil Smokies in a tangy mustard-based BBQ sauce, Kettle-cooked chips, peach cobbler, brownie trifle.
Drinks:
Rum Runners, white wine sangria, blackberry merlot, lotsa beer
Our theme was Cemetery Gates (from the Pantera song -- some of the tombstones had lyrics as epitaphs), and several people came as dead celebrities.
Thoughts on 2011: We never really decorate the kitchen, but inevitably, everyone ends up in there. It's a really small galley kitchen! There were 10 people packed in there at one point. Crazy people. Perhaps next year we'll put ALL our effort into decorating the kitchen so people will stand around in some other room
Karaoke wasn't a huge hit, but bigger than I expected, several people had a great time with it. We had just enough food this year, not tons left over -- woo hoo!
Our friends love the party so much they were already thinking of themes for next year. These were the ideas that came out of that conversation: Great Gatsby, all black light party, and my personal favorite... People of Wal-Mart! Oh my.
Thanks to everyone here for all the inspiration and great ideas that I was able to incorporate into the party! You folks are the best!

LOL - yes, I've seen it. When I mentioned it as a theme idea, everyone about died laughing, but did say they would have plenty of inspiration photos! I can see the neighbors strange looks already as these bizarre people pile into my house

Nice pics. I really like the candles and lanterns among the food buffet. Getting ideas for next year for myself.

Your decor is beautiful, Bonnie. The food looked great, and your cemetery is very nice! Really like your candles, I really need to make some of those for next year...although I don't think we could plug in one more thing without the house bursting into flame!!
Thanks for sharing the pics!

Thanks y'all! MHooch, I hear you about overloading the circuits!
That's why all my candles are battery-operated... They're all Red Bull cans, tops cut off, spray painted, hot glue added, painted again and an LED tealight dropped in the bottom. We put some out in the cemetery as well and set several around the house.
