We had our first party on Saturday and it went ok. We had 35 people rsvp and only 20 showed up, but the people who came really enjoyed themselves. I just wish I would have known only 20 people were coming so I wouldn't have wasted money like I did on food and drinks. I was really bummed out because no one came that said they were but the more I think about it, it turned out fine! Next year if we have a party I will only invite people who came last year and plan food and drinks according. It's funny how people were quick to say they wish they would have came, when they looked at pics on my facebook....haha that made my day! Anyway we played beer pong, did Karaoke and mostly just hung out and ate.
The prizes were bottles of liquor....there was a crown gift set, vodka, Captain Morgan, Jager and a 6 pack of beer for the Worst Costume.
We also gave out dvds throughout the night as door prizes, people seemed to really like the movies.
The Menu consisted of..
Chili, 7 layer dip, veggies, red velvet cupcakes, Carmel apples, cheese ball, and chocolate pretzels. We also had beer Punch and cider.
Anyway the pics are in my album let me know what you think and Thanks to everyone, I don't know how I would have done it without the forum!!

I also like your idea of giving DVD's away and especially the 6 pack of beer for worst costume (although I may substitute a cheap 40oz of malt liquor at my party
)

Also, don't be too bummed about people not showing. I try to not hold any "grudges" for no shows and continue to invite them year after year. Usually they eventually make it to one of the parties and then they are hooked! Its easy to assume that people are just blowing you off but you can never comprehend what other people have going on in their lives that may have affected their decision on attending. The only time I get a little peeved is when one of my close friends tells me he'll be there early to help set up and get the party going only to show up half an hour after it starts. I've pretty much become accustomed to only counting on my wife and myself to have the party ready to go

Yeah I know that a few prolly had a good reason for missing it, but when people are texting you that they are on there way and never show up...to me there is no excuse for that. But I'm trying to not focus on the negative, because I have awesome friends that were there. I think I had my expectations a little too high also lol
Sorry about the beer punch thing....if I ever find a recipe I will pass it on! lol

Nice work batty! Don't worry about the no shows it looks like the friends that you had there had a great time so your efforts were not wasted. Everything looked great!
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before

Thank you Blackfog, I stole your idea and covered my cabinets with the scene setters from Dollar Tree.
