I bought the gel blood clings from the Dollar Tree (or was it the 99Cents Only Store?) Anyway they are the texture of jello jigglers and they are a little tacky to make them sticky. I then proceeded to line the top of the bottom freezer drawer ("ooohhh... Look honey, it looks like the freezer has been filled with bloody GORE!!!! COOL!") Yeah... Problem is after almost a week, I knocked one of them off and discovered a pink STAIN on my purtty white french door 'fridge. Removed the rest to find similar stains all along the front![]()
Just wanted to warn ma peeps to be careful with those puppies![]()

Those stain tile, porcelain, etc...
SO don't use them on anything that is even remotely porous or light colored.
You might try mixing up a paste out of baking soda and borax (with a TINY bit of water) and seeing if it will scrub out the stain. If you can get it to stay on there for a little bit, and then scrub at it, it might help.I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

Red dye can be a pain. I bet if you got the expensive ones they'd have done the same thing. If you write Heloise, she'll tell you to use vinegar, for vinegar will solve world hunger, end all wars, and make cats enjoy baths. So try that first. Then alcohol to see if it's alcohol soluble.
If those doesn't work you might want to use Soft Scrub with Bleach. Don't actually scrub, just put it on and see if it fades it out. Maybe scrub a tiny bit - test in a small area. Or a bleach pen. Or Goop hand cleaner that's for removing inks and grease.
Next time maybe print blood drips on transparencies and tape along the edge of the place you want to put them. I think this is a good warning to never use these things on anything but glass - I'd be wary of using them on any clear plastics. Our front windows are covered in sticky pumpkins and the sliding glass door out back is covered in bats.

Thanks for the warning, Heather! That just sucks
(although permanent stains on appliances is far more scary than dripping blood.) They really shouldn't allow something like that on the market.
Magic erasers are amazing - hope they work for you too.

Sorry HeatherR that you found out the way you did. I was cringing as I read your post knowing what was coming ahead. This is a common problem with this type of gel product and I hate to say it but I've noticed the warning about staining printed on a number of these items carried by various stores (and that you should only put it on glass because of this) and seen a number of members here comment on it too. Wish I would have known you weren't aware of it otherwise would have sent up a red flag on this staining issue.
How bad is it? Maybe a picture if you have one would be worth a thousand words of warning for members here...
Here's a couple of tips people have made on the web about how to treat the stains...as you can imagine it's a popular topic what with all the window gels out there. A number of the complaints are for use even on windows. I would be hesitant to put bleach or anything strong on plastic though. A number of years ago I once use Pledge spray cleaner on some white plastic items--a Trimline phone I had held onto (had kept it nice and clean and white for years too), my white plastic Cuisinart ice cream maker, a hard white plastic toaster-- and believe it or not the Pledge cleaned them up nicely but after a while I noticed the plastic had yellowed where I had wiped the appliance down. I never could get the plastic white again. I was fit to be tied so can only imagine how you are feeling right now.

DANG, girl! That sucks! I have only ever put them on my bathroom mirror - good thing because I tend to leave it on for a couple of weeks! No stain on the mirror, but now I know . Let us know if anything helped??

Yeah, I found this out myself last year in my "Blood Bath" There are still little pink/greasy stains on the wall. I haven't repainted...just no time.
