I need some help... Because most of my friends keep kosher, I will be making the food for my party 1-2 days ahead of time at a friend's house who has a kosher kitchen and I can't re-heat anything in my oven since it is not kashered. The problem is my party is Sat. night and I probably will have to cook everything on Thursday night, and the oven cannot be used between Fri night and Sat night due to the rules they have for the sabbath.
I was planning to do mostly snacks so it won't be too much of a problem but I wanted to make artichoke cheese dip which is served hot, and also cupcakes and cookies. I am trying to figure out the best way to do this... Any ideas?

I was thinking maybe I could make the dip but either not cook it or only partially cook it and ask if they can finish cooking it right before my party on Sat. night. As for the cupcakes I'm not sure, I think maybe I should cook them but leave the frosting off, then frost them right before the party? Or I could make it a "frost your own cupcake" party I guess?

Do your friends have a kosher crock pot? If that even exists, I'm sorry I'm really not familiar with kosher foods. I just thought if the crock pot came from there home with the dip in it already you could just plug it in. Just an idea.... Good luck to you

Thanks for the idea! I'll ask about the crock pot, they probably do have one so that's a good idea... The main question I need to ask is whether it is "dairy" or "meat" (they're not allowed to mix so they may have a crock pot that is only for meat, my party is going to be dairy only.)

Cupcakes can be made and iced and refrigerated in advance with no problem. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container with no prob.
