Ok as some of you know we almost had to cancel our party but then my sisters friend was kind enough to say you can host it here we have like 300 acres we can do all kinds of stuff well we went over tonight to go over party details we have been talking about this arty since early sept. Well anyway she says tonight well we can do a haunted trail/hayride I was thinking AWESOME great addition to the party then she says so where should we advertise and what should we charge WHAT??? You can't just throw a cpl of ppl on a trail no buisness license etc. and charge people to come and you cant throw it together over night and expect it to work it 2 weeks to halloween and now she wants to do this. I told her there isnt enough time for a haunt this yr but maybe next yr she said oh so we should just schedule a time for the party a time for the costume contest and a time for the hayride but how much should we charge the guest for the hayride I told her if she planned to charge guest they likely would not come back who goes to a halloween party and pays to participate uggghhh I smell disaster

Oh My, How many guests? How much is it going to cost for a Hay Ride? 300 acres & no tractor? If your crazy enough to try it 2 weeks out, maybe the guests could bring Food & use some of the money that waas going to be used for that to help pay for it or do some of the guest have some of the equipment for a Hay Ride that they could bring to use? Just some things off the top of my head. What a Pickle!

Well we sat down with her today and I explained to her that no one is going to want to pay at a party invites have already been sent etc I told her that if she'd possible thought of that sooner so we'd had more time I love the idea of doing a haunt with so much space and that maybe next yr we could and she was cool with it we are still gonna do a hay ride for the kids just something fun they have a tractor and trailer we will hang some decor and stuff but no haunt now that we are all on the same page its all good

I'm glad to hear that you were able to resolve the differences and be able to have something fun for this year. Hang in there and make the best of it--may the weather be clear and the moon full for your festivities..........

maybe she is concerned about costs tossed her way, like gas for the tractor, ect. Let her know if anything is damaged from this event youll cover it, this might calm her down about not charging, and gives you a better chance to go back next year. She could change her mind about saying yes to next years haunt there after all. Maybe pitch in if her electric bill went over alot than normal, not saying it would, but it could be a concern shes not voicing.

We'd thought about that as well and my sister and I are going to put some money in a thankyou card for her and give to her at the end of the night the party will be outside and we wont be using much electricity as we plan to use torches and battery operated lighting to keep cost down for them we would never want her to think that we were taking advantage of her kindness so thankful it all worked out
