As much as it breaks my heart, I don't feel right about going through with my party... You see, my father will be having open heart surgery on Monday and due to his poor health there is a good possibility that he may not make it through.... As someone who always supported me in all that I enjoy doing, especially when it comes to Halloween, he means the world to me. Although I have faith that he will make it through, I just can't put my heart into a party right now. I guess I can just focus on an even better one next year, but i'm still bummed. My expected guests were really hoping to come this year (they've been looking forward since last year was such a hit), but they all understand. I guess i'll just live vicariously through all of your photos and such!

I'm so sorry about your Dad. Prayers that he has a swift recovery. I totall get not having a party. I dont think i would be able to focus on doing a party with something like that at all. Focus on your family and you can do it next year. xx

Oh I.m so sorry, hope all goes well and it is very understandable, I lost my mom in OCT of 2000 and I just could not bear the party that year either My thoughts and prayers are with you and keep us posted on his recovery

ghostluva Your Dad will be in my prayers for a successful surgery! I know that you are dissappointed about the party but sometimes we have to put more important issues first. Your heart is telling you the right thing. Hugs!

Prayers for you and your Dad. My dad had open heart (four bypass) surgery when he was 80 and we had him with us for another 9 years. He breezed through the surgery and enjoyed all those years of much better health.

Sorry about your dad......I hope he recovers quickly! My dad had the same surgery & everything went well. I'm sure all will be well.
