Thread: Are The Fates All Right?

I'm doing Tempt Your Fate as the main game for my first party I'm really excited about it! Everyone here seems to have good experiences with it, and I'm doing it as a little set up on a table with the various bad fates there and a fishbowl with slips of paper in.

I wrote all my fates out today to get an idea of what I have. Can people who've done them before say if they're varied enough?

1. You've mildly disappointed the fates. Get back in their good books! Eat a Petrifying Body Part!
There are some cheap gummy body parts which look a bit gruesome in my local pound store - they have bones sticking out and everything! This is meant to be a mild fate, so they're not all really nasty.

2. You've vexed the fates! Win their favour by eating a Ghastly Chocolate Surprise!
I found chilli chocolates lol, in packs that come in a range from mild to extreme. So I'd just put these out with no labels so people might pick any colour, unaware of their fate.

3. You have annoyed the fates! Your mortal body has been poisoned! Quick! Do a shot of Awful Antidote!
Very simple, the awful antidote is a bottle of some nasty-tasting spirit like sambuca or rum.

4. You've really pissed off the fates! Redeem yourself! Do a shot of your choice from the Spooky Spirits!
I found a set of chilli vodkas, and will replace the labels with spooky spirit ones, so people don't know what strength they're getting.

5. The fates are happy with you! Take this token of their goodwill to red riding hood and receive a prize!
I will be red riding hood, which conveniently means I can carry a basket! There are only a small number of these fates in the bowl compared to the worse fates, so I will probably have a scratchcard and a huge chocolate coin to give each winner

Do these sound all right? I'm going for fates revolving around drinks/food because I know my group of friends are less likely to get into the embarrassing actions type of fates, and I want people to participate.

Also - I want to seal the folded up fate papers with candlewax - can you use any candles to do this?

They sound good. My group is the same way more willing to eat nasty things than to do something embarrasing. Not sure about the wax but Micheals sells the actual sealing wax for like $5 or something, I think its by the wedding stuff.
