Soooo, I'm having a costume contest for best male, female and couple, and I know along with a trophy the man is getting a gift card from Lowes and the woman is getting one from Bath & Body. (i know...very stereotypical) My question is the couple one. I want to get a movie card but should I also get one for dinner as well? Is it fair that they only get one gift card? I really need your opinions on this, it's driving me crazy!!
Thanks!!!

I would say both, dinner & a movie, so they can have another total night out. It is a Couples Prize. If anyone gets upset then next year they'll do a couples costume. If it was my party & someone got upset over that, thier invite would some how get lost next year.

No, trying to second guess the way people will react these day can drive you nuts.

Dinner and a movie is a very nice prize. Sure beats my body oil. lol
How about a romantic gift basket? A bottle of champange, chocolates, candles, romantic cd, can of whipped cream
, etc.
And don't forget the body oil.

If they can be stuck in a hot costume all night together, their good enought friend that they would go together or each pick one & be fine with it.

Off my meds I agree with Boo Boo
Throwing a party is really expensive, and time/energy intensive. You are not only willing to spend all of this money and do all of this work... but you are willing to reward people for coming in costume with great prizes.
If anyone complains, volunteer them to host the next party or to provide the gift baskets for next years celebration.
One of my biggest pet peeves is that the people who do nothing or the bare minimum always have the biggest mouths, and always find something to complain about.Darkness has a hunger that's insatiable
And lightness has a call that's hard to hear- E.A. Saliers

Propmistress, I am worried about this for the party this year. I gave away A LOT of DVDs last year. I had bought a bunch of them cheap and we used them freely. I am not giving them away that much this year and am worried about it. I will have trophies this year and have some other prizes too. However, I am worried about a couple of the complainers mouthing off. I will be very, very disappointed if this happens. I have really worked very hard to pull off this party and also the new WITCHY one. I have not subbed this year and don't have the extra income that I usually do, so I am not splurging on prizes.

I gave up on trying to guess what people want and now just stock up on a few items and let them pick. I buy stuff on clearance after Halloween and save it for next year. You can only do what you can do and people should be happy. Frankly if people have the nerve to complain at my party I probably wouldn't have much to do with them after that.
