My favorite thing about the fall/Halloween season is baking! Post what you're cooking this season so we can see and share We made these for DH to take into work...we decided to start with something more fall-ish and slowly ease into our Halloween baked goods next week.

Wow, those look great! I think I am going to try and make some candied/sugared pecans...the ones they sell at the fall festivals? I found a good recipe on allrecipes .com that got great reviews and doesnt look to difficult...and they will make the house smell sooo gooodd..

No pictures yet, but I am having a buffet of body parts.

Eyes - dates stuffed with cream cheese with a toasted hazelnut as th pupil
Bones dipped in blood and guts - pretzel sticks with a cranberry mustard dip
bleeding heart - brie with cherry preserves wrapped in dough and baked
fingers - sandwhich meats rolled up with half a grape tomatoe tucked in the top
skeleton ribs - a chicken salad wrapped in french bread, then baked and cut and displayed to look like ribs
dragon claws - clusters of shrimp
veggies dipped in oozing mummy's corpse - a loaf of bread shapped like a mummy with string cheese to look like wrapping. Load is then baked, cut in half. insides scooped out and filled with dip.
ground up trick or treater meat pies - ground hamburger browned with onions wrapped in pastry with jack o'lantern faces cut out on the top.

Sweets to include ghost cakes, meringue cookies in the shape of bones, and probably a caramel apple trifle.

I have several food pages on my Halloween web site & we usually cook whats on those pages causes its our Halloween favorites! We fire the grill up outside to grill all the meats. I'd really like to bake a bit more tho, even tho we do make peanut butter cookies. Most of our halloween candies are the chocolates we do from our company. Pictures of the halloween candies are posted under party favors.
