I am finally getting into the serious planning of our 2nd adult Halloween party. Thanks to this forum, our first party last year was a big hit and all our friends are eagerly anticipating this year's bash.

Being my first time holding a Halloween party last year and starting from scratch, I had a lot of great ideas that I was forced to omit due to lack of time in executing them. Although I was disappointed at the time, this year I'm really glad because now I have a whole new bag of tricks to pull from! One thing I didn't do last year was any sort of game or entertainment. I had intended to do the Tempt Your Fate game and even went so far as to make up a sign for it in Photoshop and have my photography lab print it on masonite ... but I never got to use it! So now it's ready and waiting for this year.

My question is, we are looking at having a very large group of people. Last year we had somewhere between 80-90 people attend (out of roughly 110 or so invites). This year we have gone mad and invited about 150 people, so we could feasibly have 100 or more attendees. I am strongly considering a bit of a Crime Scene theme and suddenly thought that the Winking Murder Game (or Random Death Game, whatever it's called) would be a fun thing to do. THEN I realized how many people we have and that it could take forever and a day for everyone to die!

I'm assuming that any kind of murder game is just out of the question for a group of this size, right? Am I missing something that could make it work? I still intend to do the Tempt Your Fate game, as it's pretty elective and those who choose to do it will do it. But other than that, are there any kind of activities or games that would work for 100+ people?

We intend to have a dance floor and probably the dancing alone will be activity enough. Guess I'm just a little disappointed at having to leave behind such a perfect game for our crime scene theme.

Could you alter the Winking Murder Game to where only some were murdered during the night? YOu might pick and choose them for the ones that you know will really go along with this. I would not tell anyone about how they were chosen or let it be obvious like in the original game where everyone is given a slip of paper. Or, maybe everyone will be given a slip of paper, but many of them tell the guest that they will be part of the CSI team and need to be on the lookout for crimes and potential deaths.

Why does everyone have to die? I have not done this activity but I would think that the longer it goes on the less fun it would be, everyone would just be watching who was left "alive" to see who is talking to them, right? I would set a time limit. Allow the murders to go on till say midnight or whenever you think 1/2 the guests have "died".
