Well, things are moving along with our hell theme. The hellevator is being built. Invites are done (thanks Paul) and we have an excellent program set up. My guests are going to be invited to Club Hell. My crazy ex colleague has agreed to play the devil. Her equally crazy husband is helping Pieter with the hellevator and will play the DJ from Hell.
The Devil will have a bag full of goodies with her as well as contracts. She will be trying to reap in as many souls as possible (thanks propmistress)
Of course it wouldn't be Hell without sins and sinners. So instead of a costume contest, I've decided to try something different. Prizes and trophies for the best sinners in each of the 7 deadly sins categories.
The STICKER GAME
I came up with is more like a voting system, where it's as much fun to give as to receive... think of them as 'Temptation Oscars.' Each attendee is given a set of stickers with the name or color code of the seven deadly sins... perhaps seven of each. The goal is that you award other people at the party for their talent in inspiring-or-tempting that Sin in you. The same "hot date" that gets the most votes for Lust might also get the guy she came with the most votes for Envy. You can give Anger to other friend who provided the most cathartic sparring, or to the annoyance you feel earns a back-handed compliment.

So, now I need to get busy with the trophies. Normally I don't have a problem thinking of something. But this one has me kind of stuck.

Well, at the dollar store near me there are small devil statue busts. They are heavy, old/creepy looking. They are all grey (stone), but the devil has horns. It's really cool if you can find it in the dollar store by you. Each are a dollar. You can mount them onto trophy stands and engrave them with the "sin".

Here are some more ideas. I hope this helps.

Sin Themed Gift Basket
For Example
Gluttony: a gourmet food basket
Pride: a basket full of beauty products, include a mirror and a picture frame
Sloth: An entertainment basket full of magazines, movies, music, include sloth inspired titles such as the movie Slackers
Lust: a basket full of romantic aids/ toys (PG examples: oils, love coupons, feathers etc.)
Greed: Money related items such as fake money, money clips, piggy banks, investing books, movies such as trading places and wall street
Wrath: Anger and relaxation related items such as anger management books, relaxation cds, Chamomile tea, lavender scented room spray,
Envy: a basket full of cool toys and gadgets (so others will envy them!)

Devil horns and a sin sash/ ribbon/ or trophy
“Crown” each winner with devil horns and give them a sash, ribbon, or trophy stating “sinner” or listing the sin.

Books
Give each person a book related to their sin (just type the sin into amazon for a list of possible books) This book can appeal to their sin or help them overcome it.
Or give them all a humorous book about sin such as
The 7 Lively Sins: How to Enjoy Your Life, Dammit
The Diva’s guide to selling your soul
Write their name and sin inside their book

Movies
Select a different movie for each sin. Or select one movie that applies to everyone for example Seven or Bedazzled .

talkingcatblues: Those bracelets are great. Made me think....might be fun having them collect colored bracelets with sins on them instead of using stickers. Too expensive to do that though. Plus point of the stickers is that the person giving could stick it on their back and then they wouldn't know how many and for what sin they've been tagged for

propmistress: What can I say? Thanks a lot! Great ideas! Where do you come up with all of them? lol I really like the book idea but wouldn't dare use a real bible since I'm not sure how religious my guests are. I also like the idea of crowning them with horns and sashes.

I wouldn't use one either Ms. Meeple......

But I would create new dust jackets for old books stating The Devils guide to.... or some other devilish title by Ms. Meeple.

You don't have to worry about what is actually inside the book becuase you are going to hollow it out anyways. Any old book or book at a yardsale/ thrift store would do.

You can create a different dust jacket for every sin or you can create 1 dust jacket for all the books and make photocpies (Examples: The Devil's Guide to Lust, or the Devil's Guide to the 7 Deadly Sins). To make the photocopies more realistic you can laminate or cover them in clear contact paper.

On the inside you can put a book plate (This book belogs to and write their name, the sin, and date of the party.

In the hollow part of the book you can put candy, or a small prize like the 7 deadly sin bracelets mentioned earlier.
