Some props are in the works so I decided it was time to start the thread. This thread will describe all of our plans, recipes, games, ideas, and props for our 2011 party. This will certainly be a work in progress. If you recall from my other thread "whole house decor", I am bent on the idea of decorating just about every crevice of my home with props and the like. Hopefully this thread will do just that. I plan to update this accordingly, with lots of pics, hopefully! When ever I post a pic of a new prop, if I have created a tutorial, I will post the link here as well.

The theme for our 2011 party will be, "Haunted Collectibles, and Curiosities". The idea being a small home in a residential part of town, full of Haunted goodies. Nothing blood and guts, just spooky fun.

If anyone has ideas, prop, food, or game wise, please share. Comments are always welcome.

I didn't forget about this thread, just been busy. So, here I have the prototype for my first interior prop. If anyone would like a tutorial, I can do one, but I think its pretty obvious.

I decided that all creepy, haunted places need some kind of wall sconce. You know the scene of the crime all too familiar, a dusty, cobweb covered fixture. Very dim light emitting from it, just enough to create ambiance....

Since you cant just go to Lowes and find something suitable, I made it. This item is super cheap to make, but effective. I took the picture in my work shop area, I mounted it too the osb behind. The colors are kinda washed out, but I think you get the idea. I gave it a hotglue cobweb treatment.

Now I just need to make a bunch more! I plan to stagger these throughout the house.

Love your sconce! Mine isn't really a sconce, but it's a lighted wall decoration that I made many years ago. I found the lighted pirate skeleton (broken) at Pic N Save (got it at a great discount and glued it back together). Cut out the shield from corregated cardboard, painted it, and attached the pirate. I painted the brick wall background many, many years ago on free paper that I got somewhere. It's old, wrinkled and torn, but still works. I just have to be careful not to leave the pirate light on for too long as the bulb does get hot on the cardboard.
