Thread: Two Bathrooms...Only One Plan?

Hi everyone. So we're doing the voodoo on the bayou theme. All rooms are planned. Upstairs bathroom is set in the bayou with croc in the tub, swamp sounds, moss, etc. Still can't decide what to do with our downstairs bath. No tub in there, just a shower. And it's a really long room. Should we just make both bathrooms the bayou or continue the old southern mansion theme in the downstairs one? I'm leaning toward bayou in both...Unless something else sounds good?

I would decorate the room with the idea of continuity... What theme are the surrounding rooms designated? Bayou bathrooms do sound pretty cool, though...

Maybe do the downstairs as an outhouse - since it just has the shower, cover the shower stall to make it look like an outhouse, then you can just put in a few touches to give it that outdoor swampy look.

I like the outhouse idea for the shower.

The other idea I had was to treat it as a wall or tree and simply cover it with long vines (or what could look like Spanish Moss). You could always add a colored light inside the shower stall to give the room an eerie glow (I'd loosen the lightbulbs in the bathroom so as to make the room dark and just the glow from the shower area would have to illuminate the room).

I think you guys are right...I'll do the swamp theme in both. Absolutely love the idea of the outhouse. Hubby says "That worries me...someone who's had a few too many drinks might end up going in there!"

Anyway, we plan on doing some green/blue lights for the swamp so we'll do that in both bathrooms! Thanks, guys...that was the exact kind of input I needed!
