Well my heart has officially been broken due to some family issues my husband told me told me today that he was so sorry but he just doesn't see how we can host our annual party this year. I understand why he has come to this decision but it doesn't help my feelings. Maybe I am being selfish but this is the one time of year where I get to let my creative juices flow and I have been working so hard to put this years party together I am just so dissapointed but I will still check in and get ideas for next yr and offer any help that I can to others. Happy Haunting Everyone

If this is a financial situation, you can still have some friends drop by.

Just carve a jack, warm up some apple cider and ask them to bring food and drink.

A gathering of friends can be on the cheap, no problem.

Even if you're not having your party, could you still unleash your creativity on your front yard for a small yard haunt? That might be a small consolation!

Don't let it ruin the season for you! You will still have TOT's so let your creative ways loose to give them something to remember. You can still enjoy the season without the party and not loose the Spirit just put your ideas and creative in to it a different way.

I'm so sorry. Really hate that for you all. It would be heartbreaking for me as well. Take comfort in the fact that you have another year to come up with awesome ideas. I hope you get to enjoy the Halloween season in spite of everything......

You still have two whole months to Halloween. Beings that your party is off, Id bet those 20 to 50 guests have to go somewhere for their Halloween, maybe one of them will end up deciding to have one.

Hold out hope.. sometimes these things have a way of working out.

Also. Hope the Father-in-Law gets better.

My wife wasn't crazy about our halloween party but I switched to helping out in my town's haunted house. (it ends up being mostly my props) It actually turned out for the best -- there are no TOTs on the streets but tons of kids at the city event. More fulfilling than before.

So don't be glum. Halloween will just be different, not necessarily worse. Another option is to go to somebody else's party and put the effort into your costumes instead.
