Well as I said in other posts I will be moved into my new home in sept, and wont know anyone in the area.So today found out for sure my sister, her husband, and my niece and 2 nephews will for sure be coming out to our house for halloween this year, wich made me happy because now even if we dont get any tot's coming by we will still have an awsome halloween, since they live almost 3 hours from my new house,we wont be hanging out to often so I want to make this a really cool halloween, in the past I couldnt afford to do much but this year i will be able to,so do you think it would be cool for some extra fun hiring a magician?I never even thought about that until reading some older posts on here, and I thought hey that might be kinda fun, so what do you guys think ? has anyone ever done that ? if so how much did it cost? This will be a small party on halloween day so im also wondering do you think I would be able to hire one for halloween day ? Also do you have any other ideas of what kind of entertainment I could hire if not the magician.Any of your ideas would be awsome, and halloween night we are doing the regular the yard will be all decorated, dressing up giving out candy, and all that. Ok hope to hear some thoughts on this.

    Thanks

We hired a magician a couple of years ago for a Halloween party and he was a big hit. HE did a couple of hours of walk around close up magic. He was kinda cheesy, dressed in a gold lame blazer, but a heck of a magician. Wasn't too expensive if I recall. GO for it.

We had a magician at our Halloween wedding last year and he went down great.

As yours seems to be a mainly adult party, try and find one who can let his imagination run a bit and do tricks that are more adult-orientated.

If your party is just relatives, this part will be more difficult, but we invited Paul along as a guest, so he had a place at the reception amongst the other guests, then after the ceremony, he started doing tricks with whatever was at hand at the table. For the first few minutes, he seemed like a talented amateur, until he started cutting into his arm and things like that! But the guests had no idea we had him there.

If your magician is into Halloween, he may do a good rate. Paul charged us a couple of hours for his standard act, but was there for about four or five, as he was enjoying the party so much.

Hmmm... It could be really cool, or really cheesy. Ask for references and stuff like that and try to be as clear as possible on what you are looking for and what kind of party environment it will be. An up and coming David Blaine would really add to the haunted atmosphere.

On a side note, I hired a psychic for a Halloween party a few years ago and it was a real hit. Most of my friends would never pay money to have their fortune's read, but it was a chance for everyone to take part in something a little unique and in keeping with the Halloween mood. She even came in costume as a gypsy fortune teller. We set a "gypsy tent" for her to give everyone privacy. People talked about it for weeks and weeks.

    Good luck!
