I think its a must to have a few back up games for groups of people when ever there is a get together or party. What is one or even a few of your favorites?

I think my favorite is Balderdash. This can really get a group of people laughing if you have some friends that are good a pulling off a good fabricated definition. It really is a lot of fun.

Dirty Minds. It is very suggestive, but not dirty. Only the minds of the players go there...

    Specifically for Halloween -

If I don't run my multi-team Halloween trivia game every year, my group gets very irritable.

However, with a smaller group (10-15) we like passing a candle or a lantern and paying the classic Halloween entry fee with the telling of a ghost story.

One year we played Autumn Leaves (Very Adult!).
Everyone lines up around the room.
The first person (choosen randomly) must turn to their left and say the most outrageous thing they can think of, anything to make the person next to them lose it, either by laughing, snorting, pausing, 'humm'ing, 'uhhh'ing, whatever.
The person to the left must turn to their left WITHOUT HESITATION and whip an outrageous comment on the next person, and so on.

If you do pause, stumble, laugh, whatever, you must eat a candy, piece of cheese, chip, whatever your preferred 'poison', and the game contines.
The next time it makes it around to the poisoned person, they die dramatically and fall out. The crowd tends to shrink rapidly down to the quickest, wittiest and most stalwart.
The best part is when the next four or five people are so cracked up, they all die, one right after another.
It is a lot of fun to watch. Sounds like this...

(to the left) "What exactly does taint mean?"
(without reply, turning to the left) "Do smurfs lactate?"
(the next person, poisoned in the round before) "Ga..Gahh..." (dies)
(person to the left of the corpse) "I like setting Hillbillies on fire!"
(Without reply, turning to the left) "I find Muppets arousing..."
(Next person, to the left) "Actually, that hillbilly thing got me a little aroused."

    and so on.

I don't recommend this to any crowd with members under 18.

Gotta second that, if you've never played the Game of Things your doing your parties a great disservice
