Ok HF friends! I am thinking on a zombie themed party but am but I am at a loss as to ideas. I am not the most creative person in the world but I am not usually this uninspired! lol My "save the date magnet" has a tombstone & a hand coming out of the ground (pics coming soon). So I thought I would follow it with a zombie themed invite & party. I have some homemade zombies & we have gotten pretty good at making them so I don't think that will be an issue for the party, complete with a graveyard out front. I am totally stuff on an invite though. I saw (somewhere on here) a zombie party invite that looked like a movie poster for the 80's version of "Night of the Living Dead". It was really cool & I would love something like that. Any ideas? Anyone have pics of zombie themed invites or parties they have had? If I am not able to pull this off, I am thinking possibly the hotel or circus theme though I believe it may be a lot more work for us in a short amount of time. But I am up to the challenge!! Any help is appreciated.

OK I found the "movie poster" pic that was posted on here. After years of doing very unique invites (ie vial of blood, severed finger, writ of execution), I am thinking the movie poster might be a little lame in comparison. What do you all think?

Depending on how crafty you are and/or if you have photoshop - I'm sure a lot of members here can give you ideas. I am not either one of those (though I wish I was) so I did a google search and zazzle.com popped up. If you want to buy something ready-made or just need inspiriation you could start browsing here:

    Good luck!
    Is it Halloween yet?

Although it may not be as original as a severed finger invite, I don't think any of your guests would consider it lame. It may actually be a plesant change of pace, back to basics if you will. Good luck!

SIZE="3"]I am also doing a zombie theme this year and am tossing around a few ideas for invitations, ranging from extreme to not-so-much. One I was thinking of was casting small brain chocolates with the appropriate amount of bloodiness and printing the invitation on the box, kind of like a "Let the brain-eating begin!". I was also thinking of creating a pretty standard invite and then mixing up some elmers glue blood and dripping it all down the front and distressing it to make it look like it has been through some decay. I guess the amount of time I have to actually make them will determine my level of craftiness[/SIZE]

DiaboliCole, those are awesome ideas. I love the first one but I have a few I have to mail out because they live so far away & that is getting into some money. "Mrock12079" did a zombie prom invite & he posted pics of it along with a poster he hung up where he worked. Hence the zombie movie poster I saw. I really like both of those. Just kind of torn as to which I would prefer. I still have almost a month but it will fly by I know. Just don't wanna panic later. I'll post pics as soon as I figure something out. Thanks for the ideas!

I'm doing a zombie theme this year too, was thinking of going with the invite that looks like a newspaper story about a zombie ourbreak (they're all congregating at...party info). Or, I saw online, a brochure 'how to survive a zombie attack' thought maybe send out that with an invite that says something like "but if you can't beat them, join them, at...party info"

I did a zombie party last year for the second time. I LOVE the theme. Here was my teaster: http://www.masonbartondesign.com/fri...ightFest09.swf

We played "zombie walk" which is like a cake walk but instead of cakes on the ground it was body parts. We also watched thriller and i gave a quiz and prized about the show. We also played "BRAIN" which was basically BINGO. A group of us learned the thriller dance from online video instructions and at the end of the night we surprised everyone and broke out the dance. The idea of the entire party was they had to come as zombies and find the "cure". To be cured they had to participate in all the activities and get pieces of information at each one. It was a lot of fun. Good luck!

    Have you looked at this?

    2009 INVITE - REC/Quarantine Spin

While our zombie theme is quite a bit different, this video invite was a huge inspiration

llondra, I saw your video last year when you posted it. Thought it was wicked cool & showed my hubby. Unfortunately all of my friends are quite as computer savvy as we are so a video invite wasn't the way to go. I did a save the date magnet (I posted a pic of it on a thread a few days ago). I think I'm going with an public service announcement type invite in an "official looking" manilla envelope. Inside will have a guide to surviving a zombie attack & some cards to help identify different types of zombies. I am going to include a page the tells all my guests that our address is an official "Rescue Station" and that they should report here on the night of the party in order to learn more & obviously because there is safety in numbers. I think my guests will get a kick out of it & it will be fairly easy to do because I almost have them perfected enough to print. Easy to mail too. Then I can start focusing on all the other stuff like......costume, food, decorations, etc. All the fun stuff
