I am sure that this is probably lame and not the most coshure of ideas, but I have been stewing it around in my brain. My family and I just settled down after moving quite frequently and I was interested in starting a Family Tradition of having a Halloween Party. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a "Murder-Mystery" type Halloween celebration?
It seems not everyone around me holds Halloween in such high regards...GO FIGURE!!! lol. Yet, I still wanted to try something that would get them more involved with out having to "drop them in with an anchor tied around their feet". I think most of them are secret Halloween fanatics, yet might be holding back due to significant others not getting as invovled or having the 'little ones' as an excuss. If I could work on a structured, time focused, fun filled event that got them 'dressed' for the Halloween spirit... might it work? Anyone tried it before?

I haven't had one yet but I've been having this same idea! I'm just afraid people won't get into as much as I would. I think they would dress up no problem but keeping the game going might be difficult. Especially once the drinks really start flowing. But I really think I might give it a try. Good luck!!!

This is a HUGE idea over Halloween. In fact, it's my busiest time of year. People from all walks throw a murder mystery Halloween party, and they go down like a house on fire. It's always the ones people don't think are going to get into it who end up being the most diligent sleuths, the fiercest interrogators and the craziest participants.
If it's a good game, it will keep the pace and excitement throughout the entire thing. If you're not sure and want to test the waters, I'd recommend going for a mini-mystery (designed to be played in about an hour) and you can see how everyone reacts without committing the entire evening to it.
We've got LOTS of Halloween solutions, so message me if you have any questions and I can help you out!
