My husband is going as the devil, so our theme will be Hell.
I'm trying to brainstorm foods that are evil in some way. Just coming up with a list gives me ideas--even if the actual items are impractical.
So far, for morally wrong, I've got veal, foie gras, and ortolons, those birds that they eat whole.
Then, in the disgusting category, there's chocolate-covered ants, and those fried, nacho-flavored meal worms someone posted. (And, more practically eel sushi, and something with fish eggs.)
In the category of eating death (black foods), there's black linguini, black olives, black beans....
Maybe pork, since it's forbidden in some religions, and cow, which is forbidden in others?
Any help brainstorming for inspiration is much appreciated!

I have a recipe for chocolate pasta. Add in a raspberry sauce and pitted cherries, and shape it just right you could make it look like brains.
Seriously, if you want the recipe, just PM me.

A Devil's Bite (Bacon wrapped Jalapeno popper)...just hot enough to have a nice "bite" to it.
If you would like details on how to make, you can find the recipe here...

I don't love doing the "morally wrong" food idea - if it's morally wrong, do people really want to eat it? If it was joke stuff like cannibalism or something, that makes sense (faux foods) but to say "this is morally wrong to eat" and then serve it is a little weird. I'd go more hokey - like the monkey brains in Indiana Jones
The "Gross" category you have some fairly expensive stuff - I'm too cheap to risk "wasting" it on my friends and especially myself, who would in no way eat those things
Death by Chocolate - a good dessert table theme
Love the devil's food cake, the spicy stuff theme, red foods/color theme...

My brother makes a "too hot for human consumption" salsa!
It is ridiculous and he loves it. I dubbed it Hellfire salsa and have served it with a warning to taste at your own risk!

An interesting food to offer is "Grass Jelly" that comes in a can from a Filipino store. Not expensive, so you can try it before the big day. Can be eaten as is, but a friend of mine who is a Filipino serves it cold, cut up into cubes in Maple syrup. Put the bowl in a bowl of ice so that it stays cold but doesn't get watery.
Grass Jelly comes in black and green.
It does taste like grass, but in a mild lovely way, like enjoying the smell of a freshly mowed lawn.
And isn't that the best part of Halloween? To try something different and strange?
Bwahahahaha!
