Anyone know of good ones? We are putting on a fundraiser so we are trying to get them in groups of 6-12.

We tried creating our own we just suck at it.

We have given several mystery parties. Never made one up though. We always bought one boxed. It makes it really simple. Thing has the instructions, invites, suggested menu if you are doing dinner, suggested costuming, character descriptions, rough story line for people to follow etc. We had a ball and it usually handles around 10 characters. You can always double things up if you have husband and wife teams. If I remember right they are called "How to host a murder!" There are several of them and they run about $40 new. You can find them on ebay. I hear they are a prized item. Give them a try for your first. I don't think you will be dissapointed.

I think the poster above me was talking about the Decipher games. I bought the "A Night to Dismember" if I recall the name correctly. We haven't had our party yet to play it so unfortunately I can't tell you how it was. Sometimes you can find them on EBay or used bookstores if they carry games. Obviously game stores too. Decipher might sell them directly but probably at full mfg price. They have been rereleasing some of the editions over the past few years providing a CD instead of a audio tape for any music provided. I think that is the only real diffence however aside from the packaging--cardboard box or tin box.

Posted above while out to dinner. Came back and looked into Decipher for you. I think they must have sold the How to Host a Murder games to someone else or they are now discontinued because Decipher doesn't seem to offer it anymore on their website. Anyway after not seeing the HTHAM on their site, I found a site that has the game I mentioned above for a good price on sale. I haven't bought from them before but think they have been around for a while. I thought this game title was most geared towards a halloween theme. They also carry a dozen or so of the other HTHAM games. I'd suggest clicking on the images to read over the game box info and any reviews that have been posted to help you select one.

You didn't say much about the age or group of people that will be attending. I would try to make sure that the game you select is age and content appropriate.
