Thread: So I think I've come up with my theme for this year!

I'm doin a bit of a spin-off of the "Haunted Luau" thread. And I think I'm doing a "Zombie Luau"

Everyone comes dressed in typical beach attire but also decked out as ZOMBIES!!! Grass skirts, coconut bras, Hawaiian shirts...swim suits for those not afraid of the cold :P There'll be a fire out back, so as long as people don't wander too far away, they'll be ok.

For food, I think I'm going to make mini pulled pork bbq sammies. But I'm going to gross them up a little. I was thinking some green food coloring in the roast as it's cooking so that the meat will have a "rotten" green color too it. And the rolls will get little a spritz of green and black food color spray for "mold" I was thinking of doing a fruit salad too, but I'm not sure how to gross that up as much. maybe some plastic flies in/around it. Any other ideas for food?

Decor will be typical Luau style, tiki torches, leas and so on. I was thinking of buying a beach scene wall mural from oriental trading.

Ideas? Suggestions? Opinions?


Edit: Duhr....i just went back and read the last 2 pages of the Haunted Luau thread....seems as though someone else has the zombie idea too ah well. I could still use ideas if anyone has more...lol!

I don't remember if it was mentioned in the other thread, but check out the Big Lots in your area. They had some awesome tiki statues and decor that looks pretty darn scary without too much trouble!

Not sure if I saw the other thread... maybe some of this is from there...but here they are anyway.

I think I saw a thread or tutorial where they put skulls on the tiki torches. Could work great with your theme.

Maybe you can do skull leis as well.

As for the food, try not to make it "too" gross, people might not eat it. Cause those ideas sound awesome!!

Jahrah-I have a skull torch but it is pvc.
Love the gross out factor of the food.
