We never have games at our parties because we end up with people in the backyard, people in the house and people playing pool in the garage.. How do you get all the guests in one place to announce games? We usually have a DJ but thats about it.. I'm interested to know if you just let people mingle all night or do you play games during the night??

I personally like to play games that are ongoing throughout the night, but aren't anything that people have to be constantly paying attention to. Games that are optional to play, and that you can jump in at anytime.

I usually tell people about the games as they enter, and have signs posted in the bathroom or around the house. If the game requires everyone attention for a minute or two to watch a participant do something foolish, I might ring a bell and be a little theatrical about it, saying something like "This contestant has tempted the fates, and he has angered them. They demand a sacrifice. He must..." Something like that. But at the end of the day, people don't even have to pay attention to the contestant's sacrifice if they don't want to. I like it like that.

I hope that the game is entertaining enough that everyone wants to see... but I also want people to have the freedom to do what they want at my parties. That's what I do.

We have a small place....livingroom, kitchen and covered patio...so they can't wander far and are within earshot if you use the guy with the biggest mouth

If its a really big turnout, I pass out instructions when they arrive and then they choose when to do their dare/stunt/whatever. Last year we gathered them together long enough for the reading of the will which was the start of the game. We left the searching and time line up to them.

I have a den room for the people to go into to play the games. So I simply tell them it times to play and make them go into the den room.
