    Hey guys -

I'm new in here so I am still feeling my way around. My daughter, Kendall, is my Hallo baby. For the past 2 years I have done HUGE birthday parties for her with the Hallo theme and need some fresh idears. I'm known for having awesome parties for her so I have a rep to live up to. Last year I think I had about 30 kids from her 2nd grade at our party - which is pretty awesome since our 2nd grade classes have around 70 kids...

I need some age appropriate games for this age. In the past I've done the mummy wrap, monster mash dance off, a donut game where the kids had to bit the donut with hands behind their backs while it hung off a string ... there's a few others that isn't coming to mind but I need some fresh stuff.

Also this year I am going to do some fun foods. Past few years I did it the easy way and just ordered in pizzas/subs for everyone as I was exhausted by the time the party got here (but I was 7 months pregnant too for one of those). But I want something creative and with the fun names.

Any ideas would be greatly appreiciated!!! Thanks,

    Jennifer

At my party last year, I scattered one of those bag o' bones around the house and the yard and I offered a prize for the person who finds the last piece. I told a story of how a ghost was now haunting our house because her bones were not together. If the bones were all found the ghost would leave us alone. The concept is flexible enough that you can make your own rules as appropriate for kids in that age range.

Last year instead of our normal blood and guts party we did a Halloween Carnival themed party for the kid and they LOVED it! We had a fortune teller, games and prizes and a moon walk. We had family members and friend help play parts of the side shows. We even had a Carnival Baker. I made costumes (easy stuff using stuff we had around the house) for the side shows. And our "helpers" made there own costumes. Our Dog (a very large dog about 120lbs) had a part to play. He was a man eating lion. I made a costume for him as well. Everything of course was Halloween. One of the games we had that the kids really liked was pumpkin bowling. Just took empty 2Lt bottles and pray painted them white then drew faces with a wide black marker. The bottles had a enough sand in them to keep them from blowing over but would fall down when hit with the pumpkins. And the were the small variety. Smaller than a soccer ball but bigger than a soft ball. We had the can game, we took empty vegis can and painted them black and orange and the stacked them and let the kids throw baseballs to knock them down. For out fortune teller. I took a fish bowl and turned it upside down. I put some of the cobweb stuff and put inside the bowl, not a lot just enough to make it look kind of smokey, then put a flashing pumpkin light in the middle. The kind of light that fades in and out with the different colors. Little things like that. We worried that it wasn't good enough but the kids thought it was great.

My son is also born on Halloween. For last years party, I bought 6 blucky skeletons. Painted one neon orange and the other neon green. I then built two coffin shape sheets of plywood and velcro each of the colored bluckies parts to the plywood. We then had "Build a skeleton races" where I took all the blucky parts (painted and non painted) put them in a pile on the other side of the room. Then the kids were divided into the green team and orange team. Each kidwould take a turn running to the bone pile, finding one of their teams color bones, running back and sticking it to the coffin plywood board in the right place, then the next team member would run to get another piece. The kids really liked this game and we ended up running a best 3 out of 5, cause each team kept wanting a rematch.
