I want to have my party this year on the 23rd and I am working at a new job and there are alot of people who are into Halloween there. Well they usually have a party a big one and it is on the 24,25,26 the weekend before Halloween etc. I dont want to schedule it on the same day because I would A. like to go to there party. B. Would like them to come to my party. BUT I would HATE to schedule it on Oct. 16.
What day do you do your party on? Or what weekend anyone do it in the middle like the 16th 17th of the month? I just feel that is too early.

We're sticking with the Saturday before Halloween. First year we did a Friday, that just was too hectic. I need to sleep in and have Saturday AM to prepare. Last year was on Halloween - we get skunked on trick or treaters and only a few people in my group have kids, but they're done TOTing and in bed by the time their parents head out.
If there's alread an established party, I wouldn't hone in on their date, though you could ask the host to clarify before deciding before.

We usually have it the Saturday before halloween. This yr. we are having it on the 23rd that way we can go to the bars on the 30th. Won $150 last yr! We get to dress up more than once that way!! I agree...clarify their date and then work around it!!

We had ours ON Halloween this past year...not a good idea in my opinion. The year before we did it the day after just to have it on a Saturday...and honestly, not having it ON Halloween was so much easier.
I like enjoying the TOT's, even though we don't get a lot. This past year I was so worried about getting ready for the party that I missed most of them.
Definitely find out when the work party is, and go from there. But I honestly don't see a problem with having more in the middle of the month. The whole month of Oct. is Halloween for me so...the more I can celebrate...the better!

I agree, nothing wrong with having your party earlier in the month if the other dates are already taken. You will be the set up for the rest of the Halloween season that way too
Hello, I want my book. Bonjour, je veux mon livre.

I can't see any problem with doing it that early either. People are more into the holidays in general these days and won't mind getting into the "spirit" early. Just be sure it doesn't fall BEFORE another major holiday. Nothing more irritating than a Christmas party that falls before Thanksgiving.

I HAVE never had my party on Halloween night.. Halloween Eve is a night of reflection and for trick or treaters, typically we have our annual party on the Saturday BEFORE Halloween... however, I have had our party as early as 2 weeks prior, and have considered the FIRST Sat of October.. (get into the spirit early.. )
Even kicked around the idea of having Halloween in July.. (it's so cold here typically on Halloween!!!!) lol

We hold our the first Saturday in November. Ours in teenagers and so many of them are in band. Band has competitions (that last all day long) the entire month of October. First Saturday in November has worked great for us. We don't have to compete with anybody elses parties or trt. Plus the best things is by then all the Halloween stuff is clearanced

We had ours 2 weeks before the big 31 last year. The weather was nicer and no one seemed to mind it being early. It just makes everything spread out.
