I throw 2 Halloween parties a year; 1 for the kids and 1 for adults. I thought I'd share my kid's 2009 party. I sent out invitations to all the children in my daughter's 2nd grade class & my son's kindergarden class, so we had about 30kids. The invitations this year were spell books made out of paper lunch bags and by cutting the bag a certain way, it made a 3 page spell book. It turned out pretty cool. We had a hayride, monster twister and pumpkin carving/decorating. We started the party at 5:30 pm so it's light out when they start decorating their pumpkins. Once they finished that, they did the hayride, which was the biggest hit! They made my husband take the tractor around the field about 6 times. Once it was dark, I lit all of the kids pumpkins and took a picture. Then handed out glow necklaces to everyone. We provided the food at the first couple of parties, but with favors and such, it got too expensive so I had the parents all bring a dish this time. However, I did provide a Boo Bar for the parents with wine, cheese and fruit. For decorations, I made giant 7 ft tall reapers that stood on each side of our driveway and they both held a battery operated lantern. We had extra hay bales set up for seating, a iron pot over a fire with brunswick stew, large dead branches painted black and strung with purple lights and other normal Halloween decorations. The treat bags turned out great. I made them and hung them in the dead trees. We also made the broom stick favor bags. Great success!! I'm already planning this years!
Just wanted to point out that some of my pics are from 2007 for 2 reasons...I wanted to show a table from that party and I didn't take pics of my bat bags this year, but did in 2007.

Looks like the party was a hit and I love the BAT bags, super cute!
Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!
