One of my more bizaar hobbies for Christmas time is to try out new recipes.
Specifically, I attempt to resurrect some recipe's my Grandmother threw out, as they were either too difficult to make, or one could no longer find the ingredients for. Spaghetti that takes 10 hours, mixes that no longer have ingredients, bizaar spices you have to be lucky to find online, etc.
And, whilst I was sorting through my Grandmothers garbage pile, I come across a rather strange cider recipe that is currently incomplete (got a few thousand cards left so might find the other half, eventually, but it involves grapes and oranges, juice your own, etc...). And, while I would love to modernize THIS, the key parts of the recipe (after all the juicing) is missing.
That got me to thinking I would like to do a really GOOD cider recipe this year. I figured what better place to ask than the good folks here?
Time is not much of an object, obviously. Recipes that take all day are fine, doesn't need to be just toss everything in a crock pot, but I'm not opposed to that, either. So, lay it on me. What ya got?

This isn't really a cider recipe from scratch, but it sure is good!
Apple Cider Punch
1 - gallon apple cider
2 - two liters of ginger ale
(basically a 1 to 1 ratio of cider to ginger ale)
Mix together. For the fully leaded version add one shot of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum to each 8 oz glass of cider punch.
Very simple, but oh so good!

Hallow - and here is my recipe:
Walk to the key hook in the hall.
Grab the car keys.
Get in the car.
Start it.
Drive to the nearest apple farm - or better yet - the nearest organic grocery store.
Buy as many gallons of fresh pressed cider as possible.
Return home.
Place gallons of cider in frig.
When thirsty - pour into a glass or mug and drink to your hearts content!
If you really are ambitious - you can always warm it in a micro mug and add a cinnamon stick - also from the grocery store... LOL
After Halloween - I need a full year to re-charge my battery. So this is the best recipe I have found for ANYTHING that requires more work than I can muster. It may work for you too. . .
