I'm currently coming up with plans for my Halloween party this year. I'm learning from my mistakes and trying to fix the things that went wrong last year. One of the big things that went wrong was running out of both drinks and ice early on. This year I want to be sure to have plenty of both, but I've ran into a problem:
How can I make a big, blue, ice cooler look spooky?
I'm open to any and all suggestions, because I can't think of anything other than a treasure chest, which I think is stupidhaha.

you could always use some kind of halloween looking fabric to cover it, make it like a skirt that's removeable. Or use black garbage bag and use decor
"We accommodate the living, but who shall accommodate the dead?"
"We say haunted, but we mean the house has gone insane."

You could get some foam core board (or stiff cardboard) and make like a 3-sided covering or get fancy and make it into a crypt. or you could attach foam tombstones to it or camoflage it behind some tombstones. Do you have a certain theme or decorations you're trying to work around?

Attach a coffin lid to the lid of the cooler?

Cover it with green fur fabric, put some ping-pong ball eyes and a nose on the top, make the inside lid look like the roof of a mouth. Make fabric arms that are attached to the side of the cooler with the hands attached to the lid - when the lid is opened it looks like the arms are helping. And there's your Monster Cooler.
Or, use black fur fabric, add 6 more ping-pong ball eyes, and make it a Spider Cooler.
You could paint it with craft paint, it's washable and won't leave a stain. I can totally see it decked out as a coffin with a skeleton hand peeking out of the edge.
Attach various rubber snakes, spider, bugs, and such to it.
Put a biohazard sign on the top.
Put a "Emergency Organ Transport" sign on it, plus a few medical items.Successfully scaring little kids since 1990.

Forgot to mention, Get some battery operated flashing LED's, preferably red or orange. Put it in a plastic food storage container (the ones used for left overs) and put it in the bottom of the cooler. It will flash and reflect off all the ice.
