Default What I always run out of ......

The one thing that I make every year at all my parties I came upon by accidentally having left over ingredients. I never have a party that someone doesn't ask beforehand are you making shrimp puffs for it now, and I always run out no matter how many I make.

A block of cream cheese
1cup- salad shrimp (frozen and thawed) -add more if you like (these are the smalles size shrimp located in the freezer section)
garlic salt about a half tsp or so maybe more if you like garlic.
crescent roll dough --- (in the tube pillsbury usually works the best I've had bad luck with other types at times)

chop the shrimp into small little bits (not minced though)
mix shrimp, cream cheese, and garlic salt with hand mixer until it all items are mixed in.
seperate the crescent rolls into triangles and place about spoonful of cream cheese mixture in the center and pull the crescent roll dough up and around the creamcheese until you can not see it anymore. I usually roll mine into a ball shape after that.
Bake in the oven according to the crescent roll directions.

Note I don't usually measure out ingredients and add things as I go along, so I suggest adding as much garlic salt or shrimp as you think you would like. I love making these they taste soooo good. (I have to stop my family from eating them before everyone gets here)

Haha Ms. Meeple I hear you, no matter how far ahead I start baking etc I never seem to have enough time on the holiday. I have school parties to attend (at least 2) usually a year that I'm room mom for, and I will have a cubscout event this year that I will be organizing and preparing for, plus trick or treating for my children, and last year to make the mix even crazier I got married on Halloween and made all the food and decorations myself (I must have been insane, but it was lots of fun). There just never ever seems to be enough time in a day.

The great thing about this recipe is you can make them mix up ahead of time and just store it in the fridge (I've even frozen some before tho I have to say I never really quite like anything as much as fresh no matter what it is that's frozen), and then make the shrimp puffs up earlier that day and keep them in the fridge till it's time to cook them even already put them on my cookie tray usually (great time saver).

Those sound great - I think I'll try them at my party this year. Are they supposed to be served warm or does it really matter?

They are really great warm, but they are also good (just not as good :P ) after they have been sitting out on a tray so no worries if you make them a bit ahead of time.

Ooooh, I love the sound of these! Now this will probably be a ridiculous question, but I want to make sure I do this right: Do you only use enough of your triangle dough to cover the mixture, or do you use the whole triangle? Seems like you might be able to get 3 or 4 puffs out of 1 triangle? Can't wait to try them!
