Sorry, I'm Miss Million Questions today!

Anyone have any tips on how to stain a white table cloth with "blood"? It is going in our butcher shop kitchen set up for which we will put our snackies on!

Also, we'd like to put blood spatter on the white walls of our bathroom, would that "fake blood" work okay, or is there anything else we could make that would look better? I fully expect it too stain the walls and to repaint, so that's not really an issue.

    Thanks again!

Here's a fake blood recipe I found in my stash of Halloween recipes ... I haven't tried it yet.

    1 3/4 cup corn syrup
    1/4 cup water
2 tsp liquid red food coloring
8-10 drops liquid blue food coloring
    1/4 cup sifted corn starch

Mix corn syrup & water, add food colorings. Cover & shake to mix (use an old salad dressing bottle or container that will tightly close). Add sifted corn starch & shake again. If any lumps remain, let bottle sit for a few & the lumps will rise to the top & you can skim them off. Store in refrigerator ... don't make too far in advance as it only keeps for a few days.

May temporarily stain skin & will stain clothing.

Let me know how it works if you try it!

I had a feeling it would involve corn syrup and food colouring! Thats similar to what we use for our bathtub (plus coffee and molasses. The bathroom smells something awful, lemmie tell ya!) but I hadn't thought of the corn startch though!

Thanks so much for all yer tips!

I bought a 1 litre bottle of blood at Walmart... it was $5.95 Canadian... it worked well for our costumes... I've had better luck washing it of the wall (I tripped and put my hand on the wall while the blood was still wet) then off me... My party was saturday, and even after doing dishes a couple of times, I still have blood stained hands...
Today is the Tomorrow you worried about Yesterday... now you know why.

We've got a couple bottles of that stuff too that we picked up from Cody's Party World and Party Mart (ps, I'm in Ottawa too!) and I used that for the table cloth, just too see, and it seems okay so far, it lightens up a whole lot, but I figure if I do a few layers it should be okay!
Oh no! It's pretty potent stuff!
