Right now I am deciding whether to hold my party on the 31 or the weekend before it. The reason why the 31 is an option because I would like my guests to go ToTing if they wanted to. I live in a apartment complex so each house it connected together so that means they don't have to walk for to get alot of candy. If it matters, there ages will range between 16-17(are they too old?) I also feel that the weekend will be more relaxed and I will have more time to do more stuff. So is it a good idea?

Guests will stay longer on a Weekend vs. on Halloween, during the week.
16 & 17 yr olds going ToT? Wow! In my old neighborhood, 6 grade was the last year of ToT. I hit a growth spurt in that year, got hasseled a lot about being too old.

I agree. People are likely stay longer the weekend before, since they'll have Sunday to recuperate.

Consider this, Nightkast - you'll get a lot fewer "no-shows" if the party's on Saturday night.

As for 16-17 being too old or not, I say NOT! Seriously- I ToT'd until the year I went to college. As long as you and/or your friends adhere to the spirit of the holiday (ie don't act like rude little punks, be sure to wear costumes, don't be greedy, etc) there shouldn't be a problem. Also I found that towards the later ToT hours (9pm-ish) people were likely to give bigger handfuls of candy to get rid of it!
