Any suggestions on how to salavge the shindig for the people who do show? I will have plenty of booze and food, but may only have a dozen or so people! Was planning on 30 to 50, but there have been a lot of last minute cancellations!

Have a fire pit or chiminea if anyone goes outside?

It is the same here with rain....it does damper the spirits and the party.
When it's cold out we always put out a huge firepit, smores makings, and hot cider.....of course "cold" to Floridians means it dropped into the 60's
You can't scare me....I'm a preschool teacher!

Cripes! you're kidding right? A little bit of snow and folks cancel. I am glad I am a tough Canadian, we will party in all weather! A little bit of snow is just a good place to keep the beer cold.

No fire pit. The problem is people are suddenly scared of driving. I think the real issues is that people just don't give a **** about Halloween the way we do. If you don't see the magic in it, you don't care if you miss the party--it's just another party...

I'd be thrilled with a dozen... I'm happy as long as it's in the double digits. You can have more fun actually with a crowd under 20 - since you actually get to talk and goof around with them without running around as much as you would with a large crowd.
At least you'll know that the ones that do show really wanted to be there and aren't just showing up because they didn't have anything better to do - they really wanted to come to your party.

Looking more like a handful of people. Snow really freaks people out for some reason.

we're expectin 5"-10" of heavy wet snow....supposed to start right when my party is about to start - so yes, we've had people cancel also. It really stinks, but there's not a thing we can do about it!
We'll have about 1/2 of our originally intended crowd here tonight, so only about a dozen or so.
We're anticipating power outages as well, so we had to bring in a bunch of wood from the wood shed just in case we need to get the wood stove going, which will be tough seeing as how some of our "props" are on/in the wood stove!!! WHY A DARN SNOWSTORM on OCT. 29th??!!!!

Ended up with two more people than we had inches of snow--8 to 6.
