Ok, somebody had to do it, so I'll start. For those having parties on the 29th, or whatever, how is the storm going to/did affect your plans, what things are you changing because of it, and post up some pics for during and after.

I'm not happy about it, but hopefully enough people will still make our indoor party. I'll post more later, have to run up to Manchester airport to pic up my sister and nephew....

At the very least, I'll corral everyone out into the front yard Sat night if the storm is raging, and take a pic. We'll talk about this one for years!!!

i am sooo pissed about it, frankly. We were only having a small bunch and some have already said they won't come if the weather is bad. Oh, well....I think I'm gonna have the UN-Halloween party next year in April...when the weather is better. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

They are saying 6"-10" here starting to snow hard, oh say about 7:00pm.... exactly when our party starts!!!! I had one friend who lives 45 mins away call me today to ask if we were still a go, and I said yes. No one else. No adjustments to RSVPs on eVite, no e-mails, phone calls, etc. They are talking about a real hard storm, lots of wind and power outages since the snow will be heavy and wet, and the trees still have most of their leaves....

So I have brought some props inside that I was going to have on the front porch. We are having an 80s themed party and set up the front hallway as more or less a nightclub entrance. So I basically moved what I planned to put on the porch (including a hired "bouncer" to check IDs) inside the front door.

I will get up earlier tomorrow and put the plow on my truck (which I normally don't do until late Nov/Dec), make sure my chain saw is sharp and gassed up, and also get a generator out that I bought last spring and start it up and get some extension cords and lights ready.

The storm is supposed to rage all night. I wonder what people who may not come will actually be concerned about. Road conditions? Power out at their own homes? Big old piles of snow on their cars when they leave our house? (I am going to cut wide strips of corrugated cardboard to hand out and use as disposable snow scrapers). Long drive home on a storm during a storm???

Not sure what to expect. we had about 65 or so RSVP they are coming. Some live a few hundred yards away, some about 35 miles. We'll see. We did hire a band, they rehearsed last week and have all of their gear here already. I have no idea what to expect. I'm sure if we have anything at all, it will be a smaller group, but it still could be fun. ......

Yeah, I'm pretty peeved about the snow too. Snow in October just isn't right! Last time this happened was about 12 or so years ago, but it wasn't much at all. But I'm not too worried about it. Pretty much everyone invited lives in the same city, so I'm not terribly worried about cancelations...although it is in the back if my mind. Last I heard, we're right on the border of getting 3-6" or 6-12" (Southeastern MA). I just can't visualize kids TOT''ing in snow boots C'mon, let's do our no snow dance! (in the form of the Thriller dance)

well... no outside decorating today... Rain and sleet has moved in already, and they are still calling for it to change to snow. Not with our luck. I have a thin layer of ice over everything already set up. Hopefully we wont lose power today with all the ice. Well I guess I get some rest today, and really attack things Sunday and Monday.

miss mandy, you must live relatively close to us. We are about 20mins out of Worcester and we, too, are on the cusp of that 5-10". I guess I'm at the point now of if people come, they come. If not, then we'll eat good for days!

NEXT year, I'm doing a party for us here on the HF but EARLY in october....y'all mark yer calendars...

or maybe even in September to kick off the season!

I was pretty pissed about the snow but am starting to feel much better. I'm in NY and the roads here are pretty bad so we made the decision to postpone until next weekend. I was really annoyed at first because I spent all night decorating and we have a fridge full of food. My husband went out to pick up the dry ice right before everyone started cancelling so that's money down the drain. Oh well at least I get to play with it tonight.

The good news is just about everyone is able to make the rescheduled date so we should have a full house next weekend. My husband also reminded me that this will now be the most prepared I've ever been for a halloween party and I'll have the whole week to toil away at all the little projects I didn't get to finish. While I was definitely looking forward to the party tonight, I am now looking forward to a night of bumming on the couch. It'll be my first chance to relax all week.

Wow, I hate this is happening to all of you. I had to cancel for another reason. I am having knee surgery on Mondy due to a fall on Oct. 4. I had my Be WITCHY party earlier and was so drained and out of it after. The knee has gotten worse and pain is really a PAIN. So, we decided to cancel instead of me overdoing it again just before surgery. I hate to antagonise it. I have been living through the prep and pics on here.

It is colder here today and was a couple of days earlier in the week, but has still been in the 80s earlier this week. It is looking like it will be another bad winter with all this starting so early.

Stay safe and enjoy what you can of tonight!

Our church has a Pumpkins in the Park event tonight for kids and I am going to have hubby take me up to watch for awhile. On Monday, we will open both the double front doors as always and let all the trick or treaters see in the decor. They always oooh and awww over the hanging ghouls. I will sit inside where I can see them all and enjoy it from afar---unless my day surgery ends up being overnight.
