Yeah mate Sydney.
I have been doing my front yard up for 5 years now, I have established a returning crowd of at least 60 children and 40 adults.
First two years I had under 20, but last year was nuts, there were children getting their parents to drive them from adjoining suburbs late at night.
Being a Maclean of Scottish decent, I enjoy spreading the word in Australia and see myself as an "All hallows even" ambassador.
I see it as a celebration of good will and of a great summer ahead. As I was just saying to my next door neighbor (she now joins in with me) the main reason I do it is to actually meet my neighbors, it saddens me Australia has degenerated to the extent of not actually knowing the person 2 doors down. Once upon a time, you could count on your next door neighbor to watch your back, car, house, dog, anything but now days, it is just ridiculous.
Your post brung a smile to my face, enthusing me to get going, all ships are now full steam ahead here.

Well hopefully the rain holds off for this Friday. It's been getting hot (today looks like 35 that's 95 F for you in the Northern Hemisphere) and I was worried last week about it being to hot and now the forecast looks like rain. Either way we are full steam ahead too. It would ruin my graveyard with lighting/fog/ and animatronics though if the rain hits us.

@Wizard of Oz - looks great - which general area of Sydney you in ? Im in the Campbelltown area and the local primary school had their Halloween disco last night and on Monday they all go trick-or-treating around the estate. It's something im slowly building up on with decorations.

Wizard- your backyard looks great. We only built a small graveayrd to the side of our driveway this year as we fear the forecasted rain, which turned into a light sprinkle but oh well, next year
Did you carve the tombstones yourself?
Hope your party was a success. We held ours last night and are still nursing sore heads hehe
@lavenlaar- we're in that same area as you-- love it!!Growing old is compulsory; growing up is optional. -- Bob Monkhouse
