I'm helping out with decorations for my son's elementary school Halloween party. We have a fair amount of standard store bought props but I was hoping to add something with a little more pizazz. We're decorating a stage area that is very large (approx 80' x 40' - see pic). I'd like to set up some fake walls to give it more of a maze feel, but with no budget and limited tools, I'm at a loss for a way to do this.
Any suggestions on what we could add would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have any cubicle walls at the school you could "borrow" for that night? Or you could use black plastic and hang from the ceiling of the stage?

or put black plastic(large rolls in painters area) from ceiling or stand tables up on end and tack it to that. Have you asked your hardware stores for donations? We are doing a dance and haunted house for the first time at my kids elementary school and I was able to get lowes HD and Wal mart to give donations. I also got appliance boxes from the Sears and HD to use as a tunnel or you could use them for walls and just drape with plastic or paint.
Every now and then I have a quiet chat with the skeletons in my closet-just so they don't come looking for me on their own

donations? –

I never would have thought about donations? How do you propose it? Would I need some 'credentials' (for lack of a better word) from the school?
I guess they're planning on setting up one of those tactile projects where the kids put their hands in Jello, spaghetti, grapes, etc... I'd love to know what others have done and what was really effective.
Thank you for the advice.

I went as a representative of the Home and School Club with a letter stating why we were looking for donations and what the Home and School Club does for the students and staff. The main thing the stores need is the name and address of the school and the tax id number so they can show it as a donation. Wal-mart and Lowe's wanted a list of what we wanted. Lowes provided what we had on the list (black spray paint, extension cords, 48" shop light, 2 48" black light bulbs, etc) It was $130 worth of stuff and it really helped. Wal-mart gave us $100 donation that we could use to buy the things off our list (napkins, decorations, cups, candy etc) and HD gave us a flat $25 donation. Just let them know that it is for a neighborhood school, you have little or no budget, that this is for the students and families to enjoy. We have mostly low income students so we have a very tight budget and every little bit helped. I am using most of my Halloween decorations and many of the parents also offered up theirs to fill in. Just ask and see what happens.
We are doing the Hal O'ween set up too where the kids feel the olives for the eyes, and the spaghetti for worms etc. I really wanted to do a tattoo station since it would be cheap (oriental trading has great prices on bulk tattoos) and easy because you just need water, but didn't have enough people to man the station. Ours is a Fall Festival with pizza sales, Family Reading Night, Monster Mash Dance, and Haunted House. So lots of things going on already. Good Luck!Every now and then I have a quiet chat with the skeletons in my closet-just so they don't come looking for me on their own
