Had a last minute change in our 10/29 menu plan. It looks like pricing wise for chicken wings is not in the budget this year. They are ridiculously expensive around here this year for some reason. Anyone have any other budget friend idea I could do in place of these? We will also be having crockpot meatballs, mini italian beef sandwiches and cocktail weenies in crescent rolls, 3 dips with chips, veggie tray, cheese/salami tray. My husband keeps telling me we still have enough other dishes planned even with leaving the wings out, but I feel like I need to substitue something. Thanks in advance!

what about pizza. its cheap and easy, amd everyone loves pizza, and its ok for it to go cold on the table.
-you can make a big one with the cheese as a spiderweb ( cant belive i suggest anything with spiders lol) or smaller ones, like a mummyface wth cheese stribes and a coupple of olives for eyes?

Your husband is right; you do have enough variety and quantity to not do anything else - you've got plenty.

If you absolutely have to do something else, you could always get some chicken nuggets (frozen at the store) and have a few dips for them.

There are tons of appetizer type things in bulk in the frozen foods section of the grocery - lots of things you could get... but you really are okay if you don't!

We make Snake Bites (Paula Deen recipe with video: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/p...ipe/index.html). The one she makes is with sandwich meats. We actually make ours with different fillings. The most popular is the taco snake bite: ground beef cooked with taco seasoning + shredded cheese. The second most popular is the pizza snake bite: any pizza meat and/or topping + shredded mozzerella. You can put pizza sauce in it, but I serve my sauce on the side to keep the snake from getting soggy.

I agree with pizza or just leave it as is. Papa murphy has the jack o'lantern pizza for $7.

I actually think that you have enough meat, "meatballs, beef sandwiches, cocktail weenies and salami and cheese" That is a ton of protein! You have 3 dips already. I agree with the pizza (you could always do a buffalo chicken pizza or BBQ chicken pizza) We do a pepperoni bread that is awesome, cheap and people fight over it. But , I really do think that you are fine, as is!

I also have to agree that you have plenty... but if you really want something else what about lasagna? With the no-cook noodles it can be really easy to whip up and can be made in advance. I also came across this recipe for lasagna cupcakes http://quick-dish.tablespoon.com/201...agna-cupcakes/. I do lasagna every year but these look cute so I'm debating trying this out for my party this year.

When I want to make a quick, cheap and easy appetizer, I take sliced ham (any kind - cheap!), spread with cream cheese, lay a green onion on it, roll it up and slice it. Makes great little bites that can be popped in the mouth quickly.

I also think u have enough food. I understand where u r coming from though, u want ur guests to have a WIIIIDE variety, so that they can pleasure their pallets with stuff they enjoy most!

Maybe, if you have a deepfryer, you could get moserella sticks or seasons frenchfries??? If u r serving alcohol, its nice to have food thats greasy (sounds strange but grease coats ur stomach so u r less likely to get sick or have a bad hangover) ....which the meatballs u have will be plenty anyways.

OR maybe a fruit tray ? It will give another choice of preference i dont know if u have this problem, but if anyone is a vegetarian, its good to have something with no meat. *Am I the only one with this problem??? hehe*

I bought premade caramel/candy apples, and store brought sugar cookies with frosting (the ones from walmart)
-but everyone knows that I cant cook !
