    Party: 10/15/11
AHHH im so excited! i have SOOO much to do tho its insane! i am such a procrastinator!

How can i make cheap easy headstones for a graveyard???

I'm doing alice went crazy (alice and wonderland) as my theme

so i have the rabbit hole which is our treeline filled with wonderful props ( which i need to clean out!!)

Then at the end we want to have a graveyard in our garden area
around the bonfire we are setting up the tea party everything set up as tho someone came through and killed everyone. red paint splattered things knocked over so on and so forth

now i was hoping to incorperate the cards and queen by setting up large white flowers around the bonfire area some painted red and some half painted red with a "bucket of blood" (red paint or something) and a stuffed rabbit head in it the bucket just lying around.

The menu would have little rectangular sugar cookies that have eat me on it and a couple different "drink me " bottles with regular pop and chips and such

What do you guys think>!?!? any suggestions ?? please help!

All sounds like good ideas to me Just a thought, but make sure that all of the "blood" is dry at the tea party before letting guests sit down (don't want anyone's costume to get ruined). Cheapest way to make tombstones is probably to get some foam insulation from Home Depot or Lowe's. You can make 2-4 stones from one sheet (depending on how big you make them). Do anything and everything you can this week. Don't leave things till the last minute. Trust me, it'll never get done! lol Good luck with your party Take lots of pix for us!

    Sounds really good!
I find it helpful to make list of everything I need to do, even writing down each task to be completed for each prop (ie, buy, paint, decorate etc). It'll seem like a HUGE list but it gives such a good feeling of accomplishment when you can cross off things at the end of the night. Then just pick a few thing to do each day. Can be as little as writing up food labels while your watching TV at night but it all adds up.

Just a thought on incorporating your tombstones with the theme (not to add more jobs to your list) but how about having some character names on the stones. Or you could do heads on stakes ("Off with their heads!!") as well as or rather than tombstones if you find it difficult to make the stones or are time poor. You can make severed heards from foam skulls and paper mache and creepy wigs or string (I think, I'm not very craftly).

I hate to disagree with anyone here but foam insulation tombstones are NOT quick. They're an investment of time for sure but they look FANTASTIC and can be used with minimal upkeep for years to come! Not sure they are a good last minute project unless you have at least 2 full days to devote to them. I think we did ours over 3 Saturdays but ours are more detailed then some. Check out my photos if you're curious.

We're doing a twisted fairy tales party this year but we have an Alice area which signs that say "follow the white rabbit" and lots of black lighting effects but maybe not a good last minute choice. COBWEBS!!! always make everything look awesome on a shoestring budget.

I made 2 insulation foam tombstones in about 30-40 mins. Out of all the different ways to make tombstones, I think it is the fastest. Aside from just buying already made ones, of course lol.
