Trying to think of ideas to develop my theme "Witches Gone Mad". I'm going to have two friends that read tarot cards do short readings. Want to use test tubes for drinks, may be I could refer to them as potions. Looking for ideas for decorating my home with this theme. Any thoughts?

Do you want something classic and elegant, or something more fun and in your face? And what kind of budget did you have in mind?

If you're talking decor for a party, and you're going for crazy, I thought this was kinda funny...

How about having someone who's been turned into a toad or something (pile of clothes with a rubber toad on top.) There's those animated brooms out there that run around the room. And the classic skull candles.

BTW, welcome to the boards. I'm sure the witch experts (of which I am not) will appear soon with some amazing suggestions.

Hi mitzgirl, Welcome to the forum. Here's a thread for you to peruse - lot's of ideas!
    Witch props and ideas

you can also check here for some more whimsical ideas. Witch's Tea Party

Basically for witches you need a lot of potion jars with creepy ingredients, black cats, owls, rats, cauldrons, spell book, broomsticks, etc...

thanks for the welcome I just love that jar, where can I get it?

I'm looking at a casual, creative in your face with spending as little as I need too.

Just love your idea of clothes piled with a toad on top. That is the creativeness I'm looking for. You ARE awesome.

Keep the ideas coming my new friends. I'll be sure to post pics of before after and during of course.

Witches gone mad.. hmm maybe the spells went wrong -i say the frog should be half a frog half a man haha.. many pumpkins ( as we all know spells that backfire make things into pumpkins..) maybe incorporate things from storys with witches in, but twist them ( because they've gone mad...)

I saw that jar display at Micheal's at the start of the season - I think it's just one of those "grow your own" skeletons that expands when submerged in water - It never would've occurred to me that you could just grow half of one.

You might also check out this thread - awesome art in there...Lots of fun

Those little black construction paper sillhouettes of mice..like this....http://www.thisnext.com/item/BBB64A1...tes-With-Mouse
If you made you're own, the skies the limit - (I can't remember who it was, but someone on the boards had friends helping them create these little silhouettes, and discovered after the house was decorated that one was a little...mature) But you could do things similar too what Eva suggested - maybe a frog with human arms - and let the imagination fill in the details.
