I am considering using my chocolate fountain at our party. I can't decide if I want to use it with chocolate on the dessert table or with cheese sauce on the food table. Any thoughts?

I did 2 chocolate fountains last year and it was a total hit. Usually I spend hours making desserts that really don't get eaten, but they loved the chocolate fountain and ate almost all of it.
I also do a cheese fondue that I just put in a crock pot.

We usually have the cheese suace in a chafer. I just thought it might be fun to do that in the fountain. I wonder if my cousin still has hers? I could do both!
Shhhh! Wait. What was that?

i just got a fountain at a garage sale a couple weekends ago. how do you use it? what kind of chocolate do you put in it and do you have to add anything else to it? might be a stupid question but i don't want to ruin it, the sticker on the bottom said eighty bucks, don't want to wreck that

Unless you buy chocolate specifically made for a chocolate fountain, you must add a little vegetable oil to your melted chocolate before adding to the fountain. I've used melted chocolate chips and melted hershey kisses. I liked the kisses better, but it's a personal preference.
Make sure your fountain is sitting perfectly level or it will not flow evenly. It should have leveling feet on the bottom. If the chocolate is too thick to flow, you can add a little more oil to the fountain.
Chocolate fountains are fun to use but a pain to clean - be warned!Dear Sweet Leota, Beloved By All. In Regions Beyond Now But Having a Ball...

Agree with everything except the cleanup. We had gotten ours for our wedding reception. My sister-in-law cleaned it up for us and told us how horrible it was. We literally did not use it for three years after that because I dreaded the cleanup. When I did finally use it again, I used extremely hot water, let it soak briefly and it was a cinch to clean. The water was basically hot enough to remelt the chocolate.
You can use any kind of cheese sauce that you want, it just has to be thin enough to run through the fountain and it has to be smooth. So, if you wanted nacho cheese, you would have to puree it to be sure that the bits of peppers would go through. It is a whole lot of fun! Everyone at our reception really enjoyed it.Shhhh! Wait. What was that?
