Someone inhere ( sorry i just forgot the name..) suggested that i do bars on my window, to fit with my asylum theme. They suggested acrylic paint, but i havent got the b*lls to do that , as the building inspector is gonna be here right around party time, and i cant be bothered to explain to him why its there, and that im sure i can get it of. Im not even sure he knows what Halloween is.

Anyway is there any other way to make some semi-realistic bars? paint may not be super, but would watercoulours work? tape? or something completly different?

all suggestsions and inspiration is very welcome and appriciated

If it were going to before a real lookalike asylum theme, I would put the bars on the inside of the window and use something like painted wooden dowls.

Bingo. Build a frame of lightweight wood to fit just inside the window frame, then insert wooden dowels or even PVC pipe of the proper dimension. Paint the whole mess, then insert into the windows. Might need to shim it to hold it in place, might not. When Mr. Building Inspector comes by, just pull the whole thing out to show him it's just a decoration. Then leave him wondering just what you're decorating for!

Grey condit you wouldnt have to paint them, and if your building inspector is that bad you could also use velcro, velro them onto the window sills, easy job!

oh i forgot to say i have huge panorama-ish windows in my livingroom where the main party is and i live on third floor -so will definatly be inside hehe, but i might not be able to build stuff for them ( as im a lame builder lol) so painting things and sticking them on might be the way..

Easy way out.....scene setters. Just cut to fit your windows. I use the ones for doors and cut them for my kitchen cabinets and they just stick to them without using anything.
