What's up, haunters. Just thought I'd share my invites this year. Feel free to borrow/steal my ideas. I know I've gotten so much inspiration from the forum.
I do a party at a hall every year, about 100-120 people come. This year is our tenth party and the theme is a more classic Halloween party. I'm calling it The Dark Harvest. Scarecrows, cornstalks, jack-o-lanterns, etc. We've done Hell, an 80's Zombie Prom, Clown Carnival, Voodoo, The Shining and wanted to get back to a traditional theme for our 10th party.
First I sent this "save the date" out a few weeks ago. I wrapped it in burlap and stuffed it into a homemade envelope i made out of brown paper lunch bags. I also stuffed hay in the envelope.
The pic I found on Flickr, but believe it originated from pumpkin rot's blog. The guy is my hero, if you haven't seen it check it out: pumpkinrot.com
My save the dates are usually creepy & vague. Some people take a few days to figure it out, which is my intention. I really freaked some people out over the years, you can check my other threads to see past invites.
The invite is through facebook and anyvite, but I also made a short montage video of past years to send out:
Hope you enjoy. Party/decoration ideas and constructive criticism are always welcome!
Really cool! Some of those costumes were really creative. Looks like your parties have been a success. I am on my 10th year of having mine and I always worry it won't turn out very well but they always do. Just party jitters I guess.
