Thread: How to pass out halloween toys at party?

hi each year after Halloween, I clear out the stores of Halloween Toys on clearance (usually 75% off if im lucky.) I have bought Halloween themed pencils, play dough, stretchy mice, erasers eyeballs, parachute men, spider rings, plastic bats, etc. Then I use them as handouts for the next years Halloween party/ TOT. Last year was the first year we had a large party with a pretty decent amount of kids. In our entry way I just set up a table with the toys divided in each container for the kids to take. Problem? They took tons, lol! I should have known, but it was last minute and I didnt really know what else to do with them. So...any suggestions on how to pass them out? The kids just kind of hang out at the house, and not always with their parents, and Im always walking around and talking to guests, so im not sure the best way to handle this and keep an eye on the treats. Any suggestions??? thanks so much!

If it was me I'd probably make up "goodie bags" and divide the toys among them, and either have someone hand them out at the door or just give them to the kids while you're walking around.

In your case I probably would divide them up and put the into bags.

We also clear out the stores of their after Halloween sale stock for the next years party! We also like giving out toys as well as candy. Of course, we make our party guest and ToTs work for their keep instead of just having them ravish the goody bowls! What we came up with are Halloween themed carnival type games to play. We have pumpkin cutout cornhole game, bloody ring toss, bean bag toss (a hole cutout of the front of a toe-pincher casket that they try to throw beanbags into), pin the head on the skeleton, and pumpkin patch ring toss. They really enjoy playing these games and even if they dont succeed, they still are given a toy or candy by the game attendent. Also, we devised a neat little "game" whereas if the child in costume wants to earn a toy, then they must give us a performance acting llike the character they are dressed as. Such as a pirate, we get lots of "AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHSSS!!!". Its fun for the children to actively partake in some sort of interactive activity and brings another dimension to the Halloween world other than simply knocking on some random doors. i also buy closeout sale items and save for the next year.
i also save TP rolls LOL
i place the goodies in the empty rolls and wrap with tissue paper and tie the ends with ribbon. i then hide these all around the house and yard if its nice outside, and the kids have to search for them in order to get their candy and goodies. actually do this with the plastic easter eggs and paint them like eyeballs and place goodies in them as well. it keeps the kids busy and then they compare and trade goodies with each other and keep looking for more alllllllllll night lol
